So day
one in Rome. We woke up on the plane and had breakfast before the descent. We.
Met up with Jeremy and he helped us get a cab. Since there were so many in my
group we went and got a mini bus. What a mistake. Our driver was crazy, not
that everyone else was sane. Apparently in Rome the lines on the road are just
guidleines. He then took us and dropped us off at the wrong place and
complained we did not tip him. (Tipping in Italy isn’t common) We had to walk 2 blocks with all of our luggage.
What a mess. After checking in we were introduced to our apartments, which are
very different from American ones. For starter the toilets looked really weird
and they don’t have water in the bowel
until u flush them. To turn on the stove you have to first turn the gas on the
light it with a lighter. After setting in and having nap time (ugg jet lag) we
went to the welcome dinner, which was fantastic. We had pasta, Pork and
tiramisu. After taking a night walk through Piazza Novona we then retired to
bed whew what a day.
